I have been working on this recipe all year - trying to incorporate what folks from the road and track like best and what they would like impoved from what is currently out there on the market. And my friend Holly has given it a catchy new name. So "Sweet Cheeks" is a soft, velvety chamois butter with a little bit of glide to allow movement and prevent chafing. It smells fabulous and there is a little tingle (peppermint) and all of the typical Sweet skin softeners & protectants (aloe, shea butter, cocoa butter, allantoin, calendula and lanolin). There are also ingredients which are antiseptic naturally - which will be important during those centuries and longer endurance rides.
Care of Sweet Cheeks:
Sweet Cheeks should be thought of as fresh produce for your skin. It is mostly natural ingredients including botanical extracts, lanolin and butters. It does not have the chemicals and parabens that other products have. I use a very small amount of paraben-free preservative to extend the product's life. But in order to extend it further - I recommend that you treat it like your fruit and vegetables. Use it each time you ride and bring it inside and store it at room temperature - away from extremes (it does not need to be refrigerated). You wouldn't leave your bananas in your trunk would you?
Other uses:
My friend Melissa who is a crazy fast runner who is training for a half-marathon also mentioned to me that she uses Sweet Cheeks on her feet before her long runs to prevent blisters and afterwards she massages it into her feet to soothe and soften her feet. And if you run- then you know how gnarly your feet can get!
